Tokyo Auto Salon runs January 15 through 17, 2027, at Makuhari Messe in Chiba, Japan. It is the largest custom car and automotive aftermarket show in Japan, running annually since 1983, when it began as the Tokyo Exciting Car Show. The show draws hundreds of exhibitors and hundreds of thousands of visitors across its three days.
The floor covers modified and tuned cars, concept vehicles, and aftermarket parts from Japanese and international manufacturers. Exhibitors range from major names like TOYOTA GAZOO Racing to specialty tuning and parts shops. Unlike Japan's biennial Mobility Show, which focuses on new production vehicles, Tokyo Auto Salon is built entirely around customization and tuning culture, closer in spirit to SEMA than a traditional auto show.
Friday is a business day, open to industry, media, and premium ticket holders, with limited public entry in the afternoon. Saturday and Sunday are open to the general public.
